The WCC and Harworth met with the Borough Councillors Amy Brookes and Firas Miro, along with RMBC representatives this evening for another walk around Waverley to talk about the developments in the area since summer. The conversation ranged from Olive Lane, Waverley Park to terra-cycling.

The Waverley Community Council is being given a space in the Olive Lane development. In 2011 when the Master Plan was agreed, part of the agreement included a community centre. It is part of planning application RB2021/0777, and referenced as Unit 2, on the ground floor of Block E and will be 162m2. Over the last week there appears to be more incidents than usual appearing on the community Facebook page. Drivers causing damage, dangerous driving around the closed roads onto pavements, teens stealing scooters and appearing on residential CCTV after midnight on their property, teens also banging and kicking front doors etc.

We are helping Harworth look for three families for a photo shoot. The photographers are looking at pencilling in this shoot for February/ March, and it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours per shoot. They will be directing the families on the day to get the right photos. They are also looking for diversity amongst the images where possible such as age and ethnicity. Ideally the model families... Harworth have informed the WCC that works to Highfield Lane will commence next week, c 26 January. The main works will be on the southern half of Highfield Lane between the Highfield Spring roundabout and the Lescar Road junction. It is expected to last about 14 weeks and finish before the end of April.

Many thanks to all of the people who turned out for the Waverley Community Council litter pick today. We had about 20 people come and litter pick in the frosty conditions. We collected about 25 bags of rubbish, got to know each other and talk about more litter picks.
