Great British Spring Clean - litter pick
The WCC are hosting a litter pick, as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign this Sunday 26 March 10am for a 10:30am.

Another cold snap on its way
RMBC will only grit the roads they have adopted - (Mitchell Way, Stephenson Way, parts of Wensley Road, Ashbourne Road and Matlock Way as well as all of Parwich Court) so long as the criteria is met, which means Stephenson Way, as a bus route, usually gets gritted.

WCC monthly meeting 7pm Wednesday 1 March
The next meeting of the Waverley Community Council is on Wednesday 1 March at 7pm at the AMP in the Brearly Room.
The agenda for the meeting and the previous meetings draft minutes can be found on the website. As always you are welcome to attend. Please note that access to the AMP is at the side-door. Entry can be gained at 6:45pm onwards and the meeting starts promptly at 7pm.

Annual Residents meeting - 8 March 6-8pm
This year we are hosting the Annual Residents meeting as a drop-in session, where residents can drop-by and chat to the WCC and other organisations. We have received confirmation of attendance from the Land Trust, Aughton Early Year's, representatives from RMBC, the Ward Councillors, South Yorkshire Police, and Waverley Wanderers Football Club.

Catcliffe improvement - ideas wanted
RMBC will be in and around the shops and Café Plough area of Catcliffe on Saturday 18 February from 10am to 12noon, to carry out a consultation on the Towns and Village project for Catcliffe. It is proposed that this scheme will look to make improvements to the area surrounding the shops on Main Street.

Learn to Ride area - not open
The weather has been very pleasant this year and it feels more like Spring than Winter. The WCC is aware that families are keen to let their children access the Learn to Ride area behind the school, which will form part of the large park towards the Lakes.

Rubbish in the River Rother
Over the weekend some very community spirited residents started to clear parts of the River Rother closest to Orgreave which had a horrific amount of rubbish in it, including tyres, cones and so many plastic bottles.
