At last night's monthly meeting, the Waverley Community Councillors discussed the traffic issues arising around the Waverley Junior Academy. Several of the Councillors are parents with young children attending WJA also. They too are concerned about the movement of traffic, parents and the young students around the school, which residents live close to as well.

Olive Lane, some preparatory works are starting

At the end of October you should see a few diggers and other machinery on the Olive Lane site. The contractors will be on site be preparing the ground ahead of the larger project of building Olive Lane.

Permissive path by the River Rother in Waverley

I know some residents have been unhappy over the last year or so with the closure of the Red Shale permissive path which runs parallel to 'Treeton footpath 8' alongside the River Rother.

The temporary bus stops keep a ‘moving…

The WCC is aware that some of the temporary bus stops keep moving. This sadly is not a conscious decision by South Yorkshire Transport Passenger Executive (SYPTE) or any other travel related organisation. Community Bus service

Did you know, that if the nearest bus stop is not accessible to you, particularly if you're elderly or have mobility issues, there are Community Bus services. Any residents unable to access standard public transport services may register with the Community Bus service in Rotherham. Although there is a cost involved, it is subsidised. As some residents will recollect the planning application for the development off Whittle Way was not welcomed by the residents living adjacent to it, especially off Sorby Row. Residents shared their views with the WCC in March. It supported their views and wrote to the RMBC planning team to object to the development.

Boundary Commission and Rother Vale

The independent Boundary Commission for England have announced their proposed changes to the Parliamentary constituencies in England. Rother Valley is largely unchanged: however, the whole of Rother Vale ward is proposed to move into the constituency.
