Waverley Community Hub

Waverley Community Council (WCC) has received the keys to the new Community Centre, which will be known as 'Waverley Community Hub' when it opens later this year.

The Section 106 agreement between Rotherham Borough Council and Harworth stated that Harworth must construct a Community Centre for the residents of Waverley. It did not state that the Community Centre must be fitted out for use straight away, so a building shell has been provided.

WCC is in the process of appointing contractors to work over the next few months to turn the building into a usable space.

We are currently unable to provide an opening date but expect it to be during the early summer months.

We have a dedicated page on our website for the Community Centre, please do keep an eye on this page of our website (link opens in new window) for more updates as the fit-out work progresses.

Harworth is in the process of handing over the keys to the businesses who will be occupying the other Olive Lane units, including Tesco Express (due to open Friday 14th March), Little Olives Nursery, Specsavers, Hall Court Vets and Karobar Indian Restaurant. Aside from Tesco, who wished to open quickly, all the other unit owners are going through the same process as the WCC in terms of turning their unit into a usable space.
