Traffic Enforcement consultation - Sheffield Lane Catcliffe

Rotherham Council are asking for comments from residents on the proposed changes to enforce moving traffic offences in Rotherham. Rotherham Council will soon have the opportunity to apply for new civil powers to enforce moving traffic regulations under Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.

As part of the consultation Rotherham Council are looking at placing an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera on Sheffield Lane, Catcliffe where there is a No Entry sign. The aim is to stop the No Entry sign being ignored as Sheffield Lane is being used by locals to bypass the traffic lights where Highfield Lane meets Popular Way. With the ANPR technology in use, penalties will be sent to road users who continue to ignore the restriction. The consultation closes on 23 December 2022.
