Supporting our community

  • The monthly meeting of the WCC will take place 7pm on Wednesday 1 February in the Brearley Room at the AMP.

Precept - views welcome

Last year residents asked to contribute to the discussion on how the precept is spent. Obviously, there are some running costs to any organisation; however, we will have over the fiscal year financially supported the Waverley community in a variety of ways including;

  • The Jubilee event
  • Two vehicle activate speed cameras
  • More bike shelters at the local school
  • Activities for new born babies and their families
  • Preparatory works for the community space at Olive Lane
  • Supporting the constituted community groups (Events Team and Buds)
  • Investing in noticeboards

The WCC are considering supporting the community next year with;

  • A similar late spring event
  • Activities for new born babies and their families through Aughton Early Years
  • Preparatory works for the community space at Olive Lane
  • Supporting the constituted community groups
  • Funding a crossing patrol person (this would be if RMBC have not completed their assessment, as currently Harworth have agreed to fund one year only)

We'd like to hear your views as to whether these are areas you think the precept should be aimed at, and if so which in particular. If you have other ideas, these are welcome too by email to Clerk@waverley-cc.gov.uk
