Highfield Lane works

Harworth have informed the WCC that works to Highfield Lane will commence next week, c 26 January. The main works will be on the southern half of Highfield Lane between the Highfield Spring roundabout and the Lescar Road junction. It is expected to last about 14 weeks and finish before the end of April.

There are 4 main areas of work for which road closures and diversions will be required, and are as follows:

  1. Deep drainage remediation around the Highfield Lane/Castleton Way junction
  2. Raised table construction at the Highfield Lane/Rivelin Way junction
  3. Raised table construction at the Highfield Lane/Bradfield Way junction
  4. Remediation works to be carried out on the areas of settlement at the Highfield Lane/Lescar Road junction.

Some works will result in sections of Highfield Lane being closed for a short period and re-direction of traffic. Where it impacts on residents directly, you should receive information in the post.

Once the works have been completed to address the defects on the road, it should lead to it being in an adoptable state for Rotherham Council to adopt the road and take on responsibility for its maintenance in the future.
